Every Love Song in the World

Transmediale - Berlin, Germany

Every Love Song in the World is a performance & series of works on third world entanglement with global digital infrastructures; tracing a century of Filipino history, warfare, faith, migration, and labor.

Drawing from postcolonial and infrastructural critique, it positions the Filipino body as an interface who mediates and conditions the affects, intimacies, and violences that circulate through networks — and confronts the internet as a continuation of colonial form.

Variable duration, modular performance-lecture (13+ chapters)
Presented as a live performance, video, publication, and companion pieces

Prototype premiered January 31, 2026 at Transmediale: By the Mango Belt & Tamarind Road, silent green, Berlin, Germany

In personal, captured, and imagined vignettes, Every Love Song in the World weaves stories of networks, circulation, and labor, presenting the Filipino body as an invisibilized foundation of global infratructures. Looking towards the past century of networks, it looks to the future of labor and faith amidst the colonial systems of the digital.

Every Love Song in the World is in development as a whole, releasing and prototyping different chapters of work. For inquiries/screenings of the publication, its chapters, or video version, reach out at [email protected]

Through 13 (and more) chapters, Every Love Song in the World captures scandal & headlines, as well as historical & personal narratives: the Hello Garci wiretapping scandal; pisonets and the sachet economy; Romana Didulo & the Philippines' linkages to conspiracy and scam operations; Lucky South 99 and POGOs that encroach on digital & physical territories; the ILOVEYOU virus by Onel de Guzman and desire/visibility; the League of Legends Garena servers & Faker as a geopolitical projection & fantasy; the Filipino workers on cableship USAT Burnside; microsatellite Diwata-2 & the dream of a whole earth; Our Lady of Lipa, female visionaries, and apparitions; Wowowee and the ULTRA stampede, and more.

The performance is modular. When run with software or perforemd live, the ordering of chapters, threads, visuals, and vignettes are renewed each time: skipping, discarding, or looping — discordant, developing new threads, and manipulating itself. As it runs, net art pieces, desktop simulations, and other artifacts interrupt and add on to the performance and directions presented.
